We are seeking a key technical contributor to increase the size and skill of the DC Hardware Development team at Teradyne. The DC HW Team drives the concept, design, implementation, release to production, and customer adoption of new high power and precision ATE instrumentation. Typical instrument examples include high performance Device Power Supply pins and High Power VI (Source Measure Units - SMU) instruments for the PMIC, Mobile Application, and Automotive markets. Typical design challenges include power amplifiers, high density POLs, floating design, high speed digital, high performance data converter system design, high voltage design, high current design, thermal design, high precision/accuracy designs, complex calibration schemes, design for reliability, design for COGs targets, and driving system level trade-offs. Responsibilities include all aspects of instrument design from concept, prototyping, simulation, schematic and layout, verification, documentation, and release to manufacturing. This position is based in Buffalo Grove, IL and we follow a hybrid work model. Responsibilities High level of proficiency designing complex circuits with analog, digital, and power Ability to interface productively with large and diverse cross functional teams (within all engineering disciplines:
SW, FPGA, Mechanical, QA, Factory Applications, etc, and also outside engineering:
Marketing, PMO, NPI, etc.) Navigating complex system level trade-offs Leading subproject teams through development cycles Ability to lead engineering teams/sub-teams through structured decision making Ability to lead engineering teams/sub-teams through design of experiments, root cause/corrective action exercises Mentoring/coaching junior engineers Excellent communication skills at all levels of abstraction (from detailed circuit analysis with other engineers, to high level product design approaches to senior leadership) Basic Qualifications & Skills Experience with as many of the following areas is a plus:
New product development with complex designs and PCBs, high current density, high speed design, complex mixed signal Control loop theory and stability Analog filter design High speed signal integrity, power integrity Basic understanding of the ATE industry High performance instrumentation design Low noise audio amplifier design Low noise switching power supply design POL design Basics of transformer design High speed protocols (PCIe), DDRx memory, and clocking Mitigation of system level conducted/radiated noise issues EMC/Compliance testing Mechanical integration Design FMEAs Statistical Process Control Basic software programming concepts Education Proven track record of completing multiple product design cycles from concept to high volume production 10
years of relevant industry experience BSEE or MSEE
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
